  • The leaf margins have fine, soft serrations and relatively soft terminal spines;
  • Medium to large plants, 3 feet tall and 6 feet wide;
  • A slow-growing evergreen, it prefers full sun and well-drained soil and is drought-tolerant and deer-resistant;
  • It blooms once in its lifetime (usually at 10-15 years old), with spikes of golden yellow flowers 15 to 20 feet tall, and dies after its life cycle.
