The leaves are lance-shaped, papery, with irregular serrations on the edges, dark green on the upper side and light green on the lower side.
The flowers are white with yellow stamens and five petals, and they continue to bloom in tropical climates.
The fruit is a round berry with a thin, smooth red peel. The peel is astringent, and the juice is squeezed out and the juice flesh is sucked, accompanied by tiny seeds. It is sweet like winter melon, sweet but not greasy, with a pleasant fragrance and is not easy to store.
The fruit is eaten fresh, made into jams or cakes. It is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, and has been shown to have strong anti-inflammatory properties.
It is an evergreen small tree, 25-40 feet tall at maturity and the same width, growing rapidly.
The crown is umbrella-shaped, the branches are scattered, the bark is cracked longitudinally, and the old branches have obvious lenticels. It is in full sun to partial shade, not drought-tolerant, and prefers a humid environment.
It is used as an ornamental, shade tree, edible fruit, and bird garden.
