- The fruit is large, star-shaped, with a naturally waxy skin that is orange when fully ripe; the flesh is pale yellow, very sweet, juicy and firm;
- Eat fresh, in salads, as a garnish, in drinks or preserves.
- In colder months, they may lose their leaves and should be overwintered indoors when temperatures fall below freezing, and pruned in late winter.
- It is a Malaysian variety of carambola, with peak fruiting periods from August to September and December to February.
