- Features:Foliage: Broad, short, thick, blue-gray to blue-green leaves that form a very symmetrical, compact, artichoke-like rosette. The leaf margins are edged with dark brown to reddish teeth and tipped with a sharp, dark terminal spine.Flowers: At maturity (after 10-30 years), it sends up a tall, branched flower spike, 10-15 ft. high, with clusters of yellow to reddish-yellow flowers. The plant is monocarpic (dies after flowering) but often produces offsets (pups).Habit: An evergreen, perennial succulent with a highly ornamental, sculptural, and compact form.
