There are two situations for renewing a Chinese passport

• To get your fingerprints taken, you must go to the Consulate General in person. Passports with fingerprints can go through the fast track at Chinese customs.
• No fingerprints are required. You can mail it in or ask us to handle it for you. You need to go through the manual channel to enter China.
