  • The leaves are oval, shiny dark green, and when crushed, they emit a sweet and spicy aroma that is characteristic of cinnamon.
  • The flowers are small, corymbose-conical, pale yellow-green, and the fruits are berry-like, dark purple, and inedible;
  • The bark is thin, papery, reddish-brown, and evergreen, with a beautiful shape;
  • The most valuable part is the inner bark, which can be used for cooking and medicinal purposes. After drying, it will curl into small sticks and be used in stews or ground into a fine powder as a spice.
